Lying Awake at Night

If only you could be gone:
gone the worries of love
gone the pains of sorrow
gone the sleepless nights

My soul disbelieves my mind's
choice of improper proper direction
forcing the conflict of path
realization - I was your foolish victim

You drive people to many depths
infinity giving those of water
beneath high spans of civilization
where the greatest enigma
is held back by nothingness

But even man's greatest fear
servers a grander purpose
Drive the inspiration

Poet's dreams, Romantic's songs
Dancer's story, Nature's call;
full moon's lavender forest
Soul and Confusion make love.
