Wandering Traveller
7/15/96
I welcome the Wanderer, he that is I,
and thank him for returning,
for showing me the path.
I take Frost's challenge and
travel within the forest,
near divided roads,
but the trail has been blazed
and both forks are trampled
by souls and minds
by knees and elbows.
The chills flow down my body
endless caresses beneath the skin,
bringing me closer and across the gap,
reawakening the Wanderer, transforming he that is I.
I scream in sweet epiphony
listening with ears I'd hidden beneath noise,
watching with eyes I'd hidden behind sight,
my vision and hearing returning to me,
enlightening me, carrying me forth.
The chills once again,
I can feel it, it's so close.
Leap, leap across the boundary,
forge a trail within Frost's forest,
not one side or another, but both sides,
all sides at once, no longer wandering,
effortlessly drifting between the travelled roads.
More chills cascade in rhythmic correspondance,
a beautiful feeling of peace and paradise,
all things brought into one as my soul
ignites and the passion flows forward.
I am the Traveller, he that is I.
And I throw off my self-imposed chain,
rid myself of the blackness,
and reveal myself to my world.
There is so much more to write,
so much more which flows,
but no words come forth,
just happiness,
innate, inherent love for the world,
the world within, the world without,
the path towards infinity,
and so I travel.
